Climate plays a major role in choosing the proper greenhouse for your region, there are many different designs that you can choose from when growing cannabis. Some are better for use in heavy snowing regions, and others are better built to withstand strong winds (click here to learn more about our Greenhouse Grower Certification). Greenhouses can be either attached to an existing building or be free-standing to begin growing cannabis. A simple window-mount ‘greenhouse’ can replace an existing window in your house, workshop for barn. This is a low-cost way to start seeds and small plants, though with growing in these, you may run the risk of having a neighbor or passer-by see your small plants in your window. Lower profile greenhouses are great for producing small plants, much like the sea of green. If you can afford the option, you can create an "earth-bermed" (earthened or earth-sheltered) greenhouse. Building a greenhouse that is mostly underground will help heat the plants naturally, reducing heating costs, withstand strong winds and storms, create a low profile from above while still having a full height ceiling.
These are much like having a conservatory attached to your house so with these you have the added security of plants being close to home.
A drawback of an even-span is that they can be more expensive to heat and maintain. When choosing a greenhouse for your garden, there are many types of framing that are available for purchase. Most commercial greenhouses are made of steel or aluminum and there are a few kits for wood ones you can purchase. Metal frames tend to be more expensive than wood, though these are more fire-resistant than wood. Some kits are very simple and easy to assemble as they are built into panels or units; other kits are all in pieces waiting to be assembled. There are many factors which contribute or influence the sex of a cannabis seed (click here to learn how to germinate cannabis seeds). If you want to create more males or females cannabis seeds, all you have to do is change a few key things to have an increased yield of either. As soon as the cannabis seedling has its first three pairs of true leaves, you can begin to make the changes to influence what you want to occur. Some of the environmental factors that contribute to the sex of a cannabis plant are:
Remember that over- and under-watering are common mistakes that are made by growers when germinating seed and growing seedlings.
Always keep the soil uniformly moist, but not soggy and drenched with water. The smaller the container you’re planting in then less you will water, but do it every day. The larger the container is with soil then do more watering and it is less often you will need to water, about one (1) to three (3) days. |
